Tattoo & Piercing Studio

Covers: tattoo shops, piercing studios, permanent makeup/microblading, body art studios.

What your visitors will find

I build the pages your customers actually look for — not a generic template.

Artists

Individual artist pages with portfolio, style specialties (traditional, realism, blackwork, Japanese, watercolor, fine line), booking info. The artist is the product — portfolios sell the work.

Gallery / portfolio

High-quality photos of healed work (not just fresh tattoos). Organized by style or artist. This is the most important page.

Piercing

Types offered, jewelry options, pricing, aftercare. If piercing is a significant part of the business, give it its own page.

Booking

How to book: consultation vs. walk-in, deposit requirements, waitlist, custom design process. Set expectations about timelines for custom work.

Aftercare

Tattoo and piercing aftercare instructions. Detailed, printable. This gets bookmarked and shared — it's also good SEO content.

FAQ

Pain expectations, pricing (hourly vs. flat rate), tipping, age requirements, what to eat beforehand, cover-ups, touch-ups.

About

Studio history, vibe, values. Cleanliness and sterilization practices. Guest artist policy.

Shop policies

Age requirements (18+ for tattoos, varies for piercings with parental consent), deposit and cancellation policy, health screening (no alcohol, blood thinners), acceptable behavior.

Contact

Phone, email, social media (Instagram is essential for tattoo shops), walk-in hours.

A design that fits your brand

Bold, high-contrast, visual-forward. The site should feel like walking into the shop — confident, a little edgy, unapologetically itself. Dark and dramatic, not corporate or sterile.

Dark backgrounds (black or very dark gray) as the default. Bright accent colors — neon, gold, or red — for interactive elements and highlights. The dark canvas makes tattoo photography pop. Avoid pastels, light themes, or anything that softens the work.

Modern stack (system-ui sans-serif). Medium weight (500) for body, bold for headings. Clean and readable against dark backgrounds. Decorative type only if it matches the shop's specific brand (e.g., a traditional shop might use a blackletter logo, but body text stays clean).

Your business tools, connected

I integrate with the platforms you already use — styled links, not embedded scripts. Your site stays fast and private.

Instagram

Not optional. Tattoo is a visual art — Instagram is the primary portfolio and discovery platform. The website should link to and complement Instagram, not replace it.

Square

Walk-in payments, deposits.

Cal.com

Consultation booking.

Compliance handled

I know the regulations for your industry so you don't have to research them.

Health department licensing

Tattoo and piercing studios are regulated by local or state health departments. Display your license. Inspections are routine.

Bloodborne pathogens / OSHA

Studios must follow OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards. Sterilization (autoclave), single-use needles, proper disposal. Mention sterilization practices on the about or FAQ page — customers care.

Age restrictions

Tattoos: 18+ in most states (some allow 16–17 with parental consent). Piercings: varies by type and state. State your policy clearly — it avoids wasted trips.

Informed consent

Written consent forms are required before every procedure. Mention this in the booking/policies section.

Ink safety

Some states regulate tattoo ink ingredients. The EU has banned certain pigments. If using vegan or specific ink brands, note it.

Permanent makeup / microblading

Additional licensing may be required (cosmetology or esthetics license in some states). Different from traditional tattooing in some jurisdictions.

ADA

Studio accessibility can be limited in older buildings. Note accessibility status.

Content that keeps visitors coming back

Healed tattoo spotlights, style explainers ("what is American Traditional?"), aftercare tips, guest artist announcements, convention appearances, cover-up transformations, piercing jewelry spotlights, tattoo history and culture, "what to expect at your first tattoo" guides, seasonal flash events, studio renovations, artist interviews, myth-busting ("does it really hurt that much?").

Your industry calendar

I'll surface seasonal content ideas so your site stays timely and relevant.
